Dr. Shea is a compassionate, caring physician who is also committed to provide high quality, state of the art family medicine. She shares space with Dr. Debra Graetz (Debra Graetz MD, PLC) who is also available to care for her patients. Brookside's office staff work as a team with the physicians and patients to provide efficient health care with professionalism and friendliness.

Brookside has been nominated by BCBS of Michigan as a Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH). This is an advanced health care model with PCMH status being awarded to practices encorporating the newer health care standards. Click here for patient PCMH information
We are proud to announce our new Patient Web Portal. This allows patients secure access to our office and enables patients to review tests and lab work results, request appointments, fill out health summary forms before appointments, see their billing statements, send us secure messages, and more! To use this service, call our office to register or let us know at your next appointment.

Billing Information
Dr. Shea participates fullly with BCBS of Michigan, Priority Health, Medicare, and most major insurances. For your convenience, we offer full billing services and claim submission to all insurance companies and accept Visa and Mastercard.

Dr. Shea has special interests in the fields of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health.
She is active teaching medical students and residents on a part-time basis through Michigan State University Colleges of Allopathic and Osteopathic Medicine and Munson Medical Center Family Medicine Residency.
She has expertise in computers and technology. She has taken a leadership role in the medical community assisting with electronic health record implementation and promoting patient privacy and security rights in this regard.
In her spare time she enjoys gardening, golfing, skiing, windsurfing, music and the arts. She feels fortunate to live and work in this magical Northern Michigan community.

After Hours Emergency Care
For a life threatening situation, call 911 to have an ambulance take you to the Emergency Room. For non-life threatening emergencies, call 231-935-5000 to have your doctor or the on call physician paged. There is an on call physician available for emergencies 24 hous per day, 7 days per week.
